We wanted to give you the insights of the CVI Ermelo 2019, as the beginning of the season is still full of surprises and new freestyles have been shown. From the 3rd to the 5th of May, Senior 3* and Junior 2* vaulters gathered in the Netherlands.
> Senior 3*
The Squad competition was won by Ingelsberg 1 (GER) with 7.927, quite far from VKT Senior from Denmark (7.249) and Team NORKA (GER), who unfortunately had some difficulties with their new freestyle on a new horse, Calidor 10, and a new theme, too: Steampunk, an artistic phenomenon. We also have to mention the presence of Team Fredenbeck (GER) on the start lists, they did the first round and got disqualified. Their freestyle theme of this year is the famous painting “The Scream” by the Norwegian expressionist artist Edvard Munch.
Five Pas-de-Deux competed, with a German top 3: Janika Derks & Johannes Kay got the gold medal with Diamond Sky 9 and Jessica Lichtenberg lunging (8.397). Chiara Congia & Justin van Gerven also showed their new catsuits. They finished with 8.328, very close to the first place. Diana Harwardt & Peter Künne defended themselves with a final score of 8.044 and the third place.
The renowned Lambert Leclezio (FRA) and our new FEI Vaulting World Cup winner Juan Martin Clavijo (COL) were fiercely fighting for the first place, and it was finally Lambert who took it, thanks to his freestyle scored at 8.852, finishing with 8.276 and followed by Juan Martin with 8.239, and Jannik Heiland (GER) coming with a new freestyle theme (8.126).
The girls were numerous, so the competition was tough. The winner was Pauline Riedl (GER), who just came from Saumur with another gold medal (7.888). Corinna Knauf took the second place with a final score of 7.755, followed by the FEI Vaulting World Cup medallist Marina Mohar (SUI) with 7.736.
> Junior 2*
Team Neuss got the first place with Pauline Riedl lunging the junior team for the first time (7.457). Team Krumke (GER) also did a good job, with 7.302. The cheerleaders from Team VC Harlekin (SUI) accessed the podium with a score of 7.205.
There was only one Pas-de-Deux competing: Jana & Alicia Bartschi (SUI) lunged by Pascale Wagner, who scored 7.615.
Simon Stolz (GER) won the individual male category , against only one competitor (6.940), while Samira Garius (SUI) had to fight many other girls (8.195): Danielle Bürgi (SUI) scored 8.078 and took the second place, and Fabienne Nitkowski (GER) finished third, with 7.861.
