Last weekend the German Championships for Juniors 2019 took place in Krumke and we gathered some impressions, insights and the results for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

| GERMAN VERSION BELOW |<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

> The Atmosphere<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As everyone who has ever been to Krumke knows, the arena is huge and flooded with light, which provides a great background especially for photographers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the preparation circle is in most cases outside the competition arena (or hidden behind a wall), it is interesting and exciting to have in Krumke the opportunity to watch the participants in their final preparations just before the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One last time going through the arm movements, a loud battle cry tightly packed in a circle, complete concentration, lucky charms (tiny and huge) that are pressed, encouraging words from the big ones to their little flyers, one quick kiss for the horse, set up and off we go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is nice to be able to experience these moments as well, not just the brief moment in the competition circle, which is perfectly choreographed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Individuals<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The competition of the individuals was particularly interesting to look at, since 12- and 13-year-old competed directly against 18-year-old vaulters and the age was often reflected in the freestyle. Especially the younger vaulters often brought along a certain lightness and cheerful charisma and chose themes that they could implement creatively and peppy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly noteworthy are the freestyles of Lilly Warren as Marry Poppins, Salome Trampler as Ronja the robber’s daughter and Lisbeth Erna Fraatz, who for the song “I can do it” showed a beautiful and secure freestyle with great charisma, which infected the audience and got a lot of applause. Unfortunately, Lisbeth did not make it to the final on Sunday despite a good freestyle score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the older junior females were no less impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The championship was fiercely contested and although world champion Mona Pavetic (7.950) was in the lead first, Fabienne Nitkowski narrowly managed to pull past her with a final score of 8.001. Paula Waskowiak, in her calm and flowing freestyle on her restless horse Paint Ball, impressively embodied the Childlike Empress of The Never-ending Story and secured the bronze medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junior males were unfortunately very few at the start, but made for all the more entertainment with fun and challenging freestyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loris Cavaliere, wearing a pizza baker’s outfit, walked into the circle complete with apron and showed great acting talent as he made a pizza on the horse and the freestyle was both entertaining and difficult. A freestyle, which shows that it does not require a highly complex theme to be creative and expressive and inspire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, Jannik Liersch won the championship title with his Asterix freestyle, which contained impressive difficulties (7.901). In second place was Philip Goronoy with a score of 7.568, followed by Sam Perkuhn with a 7.300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Pas-de-Deux<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the seniors, where the selection of themes often includes more classical and serious topics, the juniors were often relaxed and also really funny. The topics ranged from “Hobbit” to “The Vampire Sisters”, from “Madagascar”, to Snake Scramblers to “Mickey and Minnie”. Last year’s winners Ronja K\u00e4hler and Julian K\u00f6gl were able to confidently defend their championship title with two beautiful and clean rounds (8.289). Unfortunately, this was their last junior year together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silver medal went to Jana Schuhmacher and Hannah Bidon (7.906), followed by Anna Bregulla and Amei Wittmann with a score of 7.770.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Squads<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The themes of the teams were varied and mostly convincingly implemented. Most squads had chosen a theme or movie, e.g. “Harry Potter” and the “Fantastic Beasts”, “Peter Pan” and “Aladdin”, “High School Musical” and “The Little Prince”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Nutcracker” and “The Greatest Showman” were particularly popular and each represented twice and both on Saturday and on Sunday, the two teams (Juniorteam Oldenburg and Juniorteam Krumke 1) with their “The Greatest Showman” freestyles also directly after each other. But it wasn’t boring at all, because both teams showed very different preferences and had also chosen a very different design of their catsuits. Some were rather simple and uniform, the others very different and detailed. The same was true of the two “Nutcracker” freestyles. Ingelsberg Junior I interpreted the theme more freely and more openly in both the costume design and the freestyle style, whereas the Fortuna Saarburg Juniorteam had geared their catsuits very much to the costumes of the film and each one slipped into a separate role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both approaches were equally interesting and convincing and clearly showed how diverse a topic can be interpreted. The junior team from Ingelsberg secured the silver medal in the overall standings (7.743).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outstanding was the fire theme of the HWR Juniorteam, who showed a graceful, almost flowing freestyle in their white flame catsuits, from which flickered red flames out again and again, which was very different than all previously seen freestyles. With this outstanding performance, they were able to advance to the bronze medal on Saturday, which they did not return on Sunday (7.612).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A real highlight among the freestyles was the Oldenburg Juniorteam, which showed a beautiful, clean and expressive freestyle on the topic “The Greatest Showman”. Everything was choreographed from beginning to end and not only the detailed catsuits of the vaulters, but also the matching outfit of lunger Sven Henze as a circus director made for a completely round and successful show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely cute to watch and above all a nice change to the mostly very classical structure of the exercises (large stayer with a small flyer) was the common part of the two small flyers of Fredenbeck II, who showed a mini Pas-de-Deux. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spooky freestyle of the new German champions (and reigning world champions) from Neuss-Grimlinghausen on Smarti on the lunge of Pauline Riedl was a true fireworks of expression and creativity, combined with gymnastic skills (7.861). The young team, which started this year for the first time in this compilation, presented a spooky and scary routine in which every arm movement, every exercise and every facial expression was just at the right place. The freestyle was as challenging as it was funny and everyone in the audience probably had to grin (or laugh out loud) as the skeleton crackled and crunched into the bridge. The selection of music was also highly different from the other teams and consisted of a variety of matching sounds, such as wing beating, toad quacking, the cracking of bones, witches laughs, etc., which were sometimes only very quietly accompanied by quiet music. So the focus was completely on the action on the horse, which was accompanied by beautifully designed horror catsuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Conclusion<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A great and varied German Junior Championship with excellent performances, which remained exciting until the end and in which it was (at least in the freestyle) a little funnier and happier, as at the German Championships for Seniors<\/a>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be exciting to see how the individual juniors develop over the next few years and how those who, due to their age, are no longer able to start in the junior sector, can assert themselves in the senior sector from next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Das Drumherum<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Wie alle wissen, die schon einmal in Krumke waren, ist die Halle riesig und lichtdurchflutet, was besonders f\u00fcr Fotografen eine tolle Kulisse bietet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da der Vorbereitungszirkel in den meisten F\u00e4llen au\u00dferhalb der Wettkampfhalle (oder verborgen hinter einer Wand liegt), ist es interessant und spannend, in Krumke die M\u00f6glichkeit zu haben, den Teilnehmern bei ihren letzten Vorbereitungen kurz vor dem Start zuschauen zu k\u00f6nnen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein letztes Mal die Armbewegungen durchgehen, ein lauter Schlachtruf eng zusammengedr\u00e4ngt im Kreis, v\u00f6llige Konzentration, Gl\u00fccksbringer (winzig kleine und riesengro\u00dfe), die gedr\u00fcckt werden, ermutigende Worte von den Gro\u00dfen zu ihren kleinen Fliegern, eine Runde Bockspringen mit dem ganzen Team, ein schneller Kuss auf die Pferden\u00fcstern, aufstellen und es geht los.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es ist sch\u00f6n, auch diese Momente miterleben zu k\u00f6nnen und nicht blo\u00df den kurzen Moment im Wettkampfzirkel, der perfekt durch choreografiert ist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Einzel<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Der Wettkampf der Einzelvoltigierer war besonders interessant anzusehen, da hier 12- und  13-j\u00e4hrige im direkten Vergleich gegen 18-j\u00e4hrige Voltigierer antreten und sich das Alter oft auch in der K\u00fcrgestaltung widerspiegelte. Gerade die j\u00fcngeren Voltigierer brachten oft eine gewisse Leichtigkeit und fr\u00f6hliche Ausstrahlung mit und w\u00e4hlten sich Themen aus, die sie kreativ und schwungvoll umsetzen konnten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besonders aufgefallen sind die K\u00fcren von Lilly Warren als Marry Poppins, Salome Trampler als Ronja R\u00e4ubertochter und Lisbeth Erna Fraatz, die zum Lied \u201eIch schaff das schon\u201c eine sch\u00f6ne und sichere K\u00fcr mit toller Ausstrahlung zeigte, die das Publikum ansteckte und viel Applaus bekam. Trotz einer guten K\u00fcrnote schaffte es Lisbeth leider nicht ins Finale am Sonntag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die \u00e4lteren Juniordamen waren aber nat\u00fcrlich nicht weniger beeindruckend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Meistertitel war hart umk\u00e4mpft und obwohl Weltmeisterin Mona Pavetic (7,950) zun\u00e4chst in F\u00fchrung lag, konnte am Ende Fabienne Nitkowski mit einem Endergebnis von 8,001 knapp an ihr vorbei ziehen. Paula Waskowiak verk\u00f6rperte in ihrer ruhigen und flie\u00dfenden K\u00fcr auf ihrem etwas unruhig wirkenden Pferd Paint Ball sehr eindrucksvoll die Kindliche Kaiserin der Unendlichen Geschichte und sicherte sich die Bronzemedaille. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juniorherren waren leider nur sehr wenige am Start, die sorgten aber f\u00fcr umso mehr Unterhaltung mit lustigen und anspruchsvollen K\u00fcren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loris Cavaliere lief im Outfit eines Pizzab\u00e4ckers komplett mit Sch\u00fcrze in den Zirkel und bewies gro\u00dfes schauspielerisches Talent, als er auf dem Pferd eine Pizza belegte und die K\u00fcr war gleicherma\u00dfen unterhaltsam wie schwierig. Eine K\u00fcr, die zeigt, dass es keines hoch komplexen Themas bedarf, um kreativ und ausdrucksstark zu turnen und zu begeistern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Den Meistertitel erk\u00e4mpfte sich hier am Ende Jannik Liersch mit seiner Asterix-K\u00fcr, die beeindruckende Schwierigkeiten enthielt (7,901). Auf dem zweiten Rang lag Philip Goronoy mit einer Wertnote von 7,568, gefolgt von Sam Perkuhn mit einer 7.300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Doppel<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Anders als bei den Senioren, wo die Themenauswahl h\u00e4ufig eher klassische und auch ernste Themen umfasst, ging es bei den Junioren h\u00e4ufig lockerer und auch richtig lustig zu. Die Themen reichten vom \u201eHobbit\u201c \u00fcber \u201eDie Vampirschwestern\u201c, von \u201eMadagaskar\u201c, \u00fcber Schlangenbesch\u00f6rer bis zu \u201eMickey und Minnie\u201c. Die Vorjahressieger Ronja K\u00e4hler und Julian K\u00f6gl konnten ihren Meistertitel mit zwei sch\u00f6nen und sauberen Uml\u00e4ufen souver\u00e4n verteidigen (8,289). Leider war dies ihr letztes gemeinsames Juniorjahr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Den Silberrang sicherten sich Jana Schuhmacher und Hannah Bidon (7,906), gefolgt von Anna Bregulla und Amei Wittmann mit einer Wertnote von 7,770.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Gruppen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Die Themen der Gruppenk\u00fcren waren vielf\u00e4ltig gew\u00e4hlt und zumeist sehr \u00fcberzeugend umgesetzt. Die meisten Gruppen hatten als Thema einen Film oder ein Buch gew\u00e4hlt, z.B. \u201eHarry Potter\u201c und die \u201ePhantastischen Tierwesen\u201c,  \u201ePeter Pan\u201c und \u201eAladdin\u201c, \u201eHigh School Musical\u201c und \u201eDer kleine Prinz\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eDer Nussknacker\u201c und \u201eThe Greatest Showman\u201c waren besonders beliebt und jeweils doppelt vertreten und sowohl am Samstag als auch am Sonntag waren die beiden Teams (Juniorteam Oldenburg und Juniorteam Krumke 1) mit ihren \u201eThe Greatest Showman\u201c-K\u00fcren auch direkt nacheinander an der Reihe. Langweilig wurde es dabei absolut nicht, denn beide Teams zeigten ganz unterschiedliche K\u00fcren und hatten auch bei der Gestaltung ihrer Trikots ganz unterschiedliche Wege gew\u00e4hlt. Die einen waren eher schlicht und einheitlich gehalten, die anderen sehr unterschiedlich und detailreich. Ebenso verhielt es sich bei den beiden \u201eNussknacker\u201c-K\u00fcren. Ingelsberg Junior I interpretierte das Thema sowohl in der Trikotgestaltung als auch in der K\u00fcrgestaltung freier und offener, wohingegen das Fortuna Saarburg Juniorteam ihre Trikots sehr stark an den Kost\u00fcmen des Films orientiert hatte und jeder in eine eigene Rolle schl\u00fcpfte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beide Ans\u00e4tze waren gleicherma\u00dfen interessant und \u00fcberzeugend und zeigten deutlich, wie vielf\u00e4ltig ein Thema interpretiert werden kann. Das Juniorteam aus Ingelsberg sicherte sich in der Gesamtwertung die Silbermedaille (7,743).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herausstechend war das Feuerthema des HWR Juniorteams, das in seinen wei\u00dfen Flammentrikots, aus denen immer wieder rote Flammen heraus z\u00fcngelten eine anmutige, fast flie\u00dfende K\u00fcr zeigte, die ganz anders war, als alle zuvor gesehenen K\u00fcren. Mit dieser hervorragenden Leistung konnten sie sich bereits am Samstag auf den Bronzerang vorschieben, den sie auch am Sonntag nicht wieder hergaben (7,612). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein echtes Highlight unter den K\u00fcren war das Oldenburger Juniorteam, welches zum Thema \u201eThe Greatest Showman\u201c eine wundersch\u00f6ne, saubere und ausdrucksstarke K\u00fcr zeigte. Alles war von Anfang bis Ende durch choreografiert und nicht nur die detailreichen Trikots der Voltigierer, sondern auch das passende Outfit von Longenf\u00fchrer Sven Henze als Zirkusdirektor sorgten f\u00fcr eine absolut runde und gelungene Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolut zuckers\u00fc\u00df anzuschauen und vor allem auch eine sch\u00f6ne Abwechslung zum gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils doch sehr klassischen Aufbau der \u00dcbungen (gro\u00dfer Steher mit kleinem Flieger) war der gemeinsame K\u00fcrteil der beiden kleinen Flieger vom Team Fredenbeck II, die einen Zweierblock im Mini-Format turnten. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Gruselk\u00fcr der neuen Deutschen Meister (und amtierenden Weltmeister) aus Neuss-Grimlinghausen auf Smarti an der Longe von Pauline Riedl ein wahres Feuerwerk an Ausdruck und Kreativit\u00e4t, vereint mit turnerischem K\u00f6nnen (7,861). Das junge Team, das in diesem Jahr zum ersten mMal in dieser Zusammenstellung an den Start gegangen ist, pr\u00e4sentierte eine K\u00fcr zum Thema Spuk und Grusel, bei der einfach von vorne bis hinten jede Armbewegung, jede \u00dcbung und jeder Gesichtsausdruck haargenau am richtigen Fleck war. Die K\u00fcr war genauso anspruchsvoll wie lustig und wahrscheinlich musste jeder im Publikum grinsen (oder auch laut los lachen), als das Skelett sich unter lautem knacken und knirschen in die Br\u00fccke bewegte. Auch die Auswahl der Musik hob sich stark von den anderen Teams ab und bestand aus einer Vielzahl von passenden Ger\u00e4uschen, wie Fl\u00fcgelschlagen, Kr\u00f6tenquaken, das Knacken von Knochen, Hexenlachen, usw, die teilweise nur sehr leise mit ruhiger Musik untermalt waren. So lag der Fokus ganz beim Geschehen auf dem Pferd, das von wundersch\u00f6n gestalteten Gruseltrikots untermalt wurde. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

> Fazit<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ein tolle und abwechslungsreiche Deutsche Jugendmeisterschaft mit hervorragenden Leistungen, die bis zum Ende spannend blieb und bei der es insgesamt (zumindest in der K\u00fcrgestaltung) etwas lustiger und fr\u00f6hlicher zuging, als bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft der Senioren<\/a>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es wird spannend sein, zu verfolgen, wie die einzelnen Junioren sich in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren entwickeln und wie diejenigen, die altersbedingt nicht mehr im Juniorbereich starten k\u00f6nnen, sich ab n\u00e4chstem Jahr im Seniorbereich behaupten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
